2019/Ukranian Group about Faith

Aktualisiert: 16. Feb. 2020

Interview of Aram Samsonyan from the Ukranian Group after the Training Course in Armenia "Face2Faith" 2019

According to your opinion, what drives interfaith radicalization?

The interfaith radicalization of the population, in particular the youth, contributes to the inaction of the authorities in matters of public concern. Also, the loss of the state's monopoly on violence, corruption and the absence of an alternative to youth pushes it into the streets where lawlessness is created.

What is the role of youth organizations/NGOs in the prevention of interfaith radicalisation?

Youth organizations are called upon to create conditions for multifaceted development for each individual. Adolescence is a time when personality is formed. And that is when the young people are most interested or interested. Important here are international exchanges, trainings, charity involvement and so on.

What can we do to protect young people from extremist influences in the online environment? What are your tips for staying safe online?

We cannot prohibit young people from using the Internet freely. First, it is against human rights. Second, in today's digital world, even in kindergarten, children have smartphones. Education and enlightenment are the best tools for establishing positive communication between young people and adults.
