Interview of Bogdan Sburlea after the Training Course.
Can you give us your opinion about the project “Post-truth“? What is the most important thing you have learned during the training?
I found the project to be very informative especially thanks to the two amazing trainers. They managed to teach us in both a formal and informal way to be more aware about the information that is out there and thanks to them i question everything (in a good way) nowadays. The program was flexible enough and the trainers where always at our disposal if we had any question. Most important thing for me is that I've learn how to check if the information I'm reading is actually true or not. I couldn't belive how much fake information is out there in the word.
In your opinion, how can young people deal with propaganda, misinformation and fake news? Do you have your own tips?
In my opinion it's very hard for young people to deal with propaganda, misinformation or fake news nowadays, because of the vast social media information. First of all someone has to teach them and open their eyes to what is out there. I think a program about this topic must be included in schools to introduce the younglings to the idea of fake news as soon as possible. Second of all the young one need to be themselves open minded and not belive everything they read on the mass media.
How do you plan to share and use your knowledge in your local community?
I already started to share the knowledge I've learn with my collegues at university, and my family. I told them about the project and what i have learned and we took a picture togheder. I found out that many of them didn't actually knew that a lot of the news are fake. My only hope is that they will teach others about this, and spread the word. Another way to share the knowledge is throughout social media.
